I get that David Hogg feels that fun was ripped from his late adolescence and young adulthood, but young people in the US have always focused more on fun rather than politics beginning in the late 70s, and continued this practice throughout the 80s, 90s, and the aughts. I don’t see the that the US was better off during this time, either.
Treating women, LGTQIA+, people of color with respect is not walking on eggshells. Unequal pay, the casting couch, date rape, bigoted jokes, worrying about people’s genitals is not a step forward. JFC, can no white man, whatever the age, get this!?!

The irony is that this kind of hypermasculine gender identity crises foisted on everything that has a penis but not a sex slave… this kind of patriarchal authoritarianism is literally primarily used for justifying sending massive amounts of young men to die in wars because most of them, whether they realize it or not, are the “spares” in their own ideology.

No issues here. I am increasingly convinced that men are irredeemable pigs. Not actually sure this is actually a new thing at all. Might just be less worried about hiding it these days. I really had hopes for Hogg, though. This is incredibly disappointing.
When some one enters us politics i suspect it doesn’t matter how they start off as people that much. They go to the heritage think tank or the heritage-light think tank and get “the narrative.” It’s never been so painfully obvious that the US is a one party country with a blow off tent.
If the Democratic “tent” needs to get big enough to include crypto corruption and/or fascists like Andreessen, then, well, fuck you, no it doesn’t.
Once Democrats stand for exactly nothing, people will have to vote for them! 
In truth though I don’t think the constant “actually we need to appeal to the right wing that hates us” nonsense has ever had anything to do with voters. It’s venal assholes going after donors. All Gallego cares about is that Andreessen’s wallet was at his fundraiser.
