The problems of the Democratic party

If it can win in Nebraska; it can win most anywhere.

And OMG! The comments

You can criticize Harris for not promoting trans rights and going soft on Gaza, but you cannot lie and say that she didn’t campaign on preserving our democracy. She and all the Democrats mentioned this so often that there was huge pushback from most of the media and the center-right. (“Relax! He won’t/can’t do anything.”)

I guess these folks were getting all their info from right wing sources…

Yes. I think so too. I really think they just kind of tried to deflect and avoid and it made them look weak and fearful. This makes the GOP propaganda even seem more plausible to some. Also made people feel hopeless and unrepresented when they were being targeted and then the Dems are like “donate money to us or lose your rights” in your inbox ten times a day.

Similarly in my opinion one of the biggest mistakes the Harris campaign made was to not have anyone address a US Muslim pov in public. There shouldn’t be total avoidance of speech on topics that are obviously a big deal to voters in one way or another. That just leaves people feeling like neither party is going to address them anyway.

There’s an entire industry of disparaging democrats all day, everyday. It’s reflexive in some. And probably profitable for some others.

Not that it’s not deserved on numerous things. But target that shit. And acknowledge when they’re doing the right things just as loudly.

Yeah. It also doesn’t help that there are like countless fucking bots posting the worst emotionally manipulative bullshit too and then amplifying this via some techbros encoded opinions made real at the expense of everything else.

Yep, one of the most effective silencing tactics that the GOP used to fuck her campaign up successfully was to exploit this idea that she was “just accusing us of fascism and trying to overthrow the country on that pretext.”

It worked a lot on some voters I think. Really well. They believed it. But now that this is no longer a needed story they can believe something else.

The fact that “people are saying” Harris needs to disappear to fix the party’s image and not this fucking POS is grim.

Well since he’s a Democrat, there’s a chance this could destroy his campaign.

Did anyone post this essay yet?

I’d guess a lot of them are also hoping to make a million or two from it.

His opponents should ask: “Would you let your daughter intern for this man?”

Yes. I would like to remind everyone that my official Harris tote bag is covered in one repeating phrase — VOTE DEMOCRACY.

It does need to change, but I’m pretty sure I no longer want Hogg to be involved in that change.
