The problems of the Democratic party

I don’t think they are dumb in the “don’t realize” sense so much as in the “don’t care” sense. What I mean is that people like this I think are “buying soundbites” that they think will make their base happy and will sell well with Maga because they legitimize Trumps weird bullshit.

Over the last decade the Dems have become above all a party of whiny-but-helpless codependence with Maga.

If she thinks that’s a soundbite that will make her base happy, that’s pretty dumb.

He may not be wrong about Trump, but heaven help us if Newsom is the best available solution. :frowning:

Yep, you don’t gotta tell me that. Ugh.

I see a lot of pictures of Bill with Epstein etc. on websites so I’d say some people still care a lot about Bill Clinton.

I guess I’d care if he actually got in trouble over all this… that would be good… However, despite Trump constantly bleeting on about HIlary Clinton, he knows that if he actual went after the Clintons over whatever he knows about Bill’s relationship to Epstein, they could very well retaliate with information of their own that’s likely as bad or worse than whatever Bill did…

Win win right?

ETA it’s really only Hilary he makes the deal over. Bill is sleazy as all fuck but that’s not really much of an issue with Trump. He played that hand once, in a debate with Hlary, other than that the serial rapist, paedophile, and sexual abuser that he is it’s not one he pulls out too often.

Hillary has always gotten slack over Bill, even when he was president. I remember that when the Monica stuff came out, Hillary was somehow given blame for it. Never understood why she would be at fault for his actions. Other than the obvious chauvinism, of course.

It’s part and parcel with patriarchy: men have no agency. Nothing men do is their fault. It’s always a woman’s fault. Always.

“Corn-fed”? I know that phrase is not always meant as an insult, and doesn’t strictly refer only to livestock, but man, what a weird phrase to use in an attempt to humanize people. And what’s with the “white sneakers” reference?

When I hear the phrase “corn-fed” I can’t help but think of that old scene from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride where an auctioneer is selling off the captured women of the village:

“Weigh anchor now, ya swabbies. What be I offered for this winsome wench? Stout 'arted and corn fed she be…”

Corn-fed might be an insult on the coasts, but not in flyover country. Which is, after all, where she’s from.

Real men are free range, Elissa.

She’s an heiress who never had to work a day in her life. What does she know about regular people?

She just redefines it to mean the elites, who are the REAL regular people… the rest of us are scum who are only fit to lick their boots…
