Bluesky is awful today. Many #resist and #voteblue accounts going off misgendering and deadnaming Caitlyn Jenner to score cheap political points. They think itâs fun to be bigots to bad people, but they donât seem to care how that affects trans people in their lives/online that only see their acceptance being conditional on being a good little tranny and not rocking the boat.
Trans people are not political bargaining chips. Our identity is not conditional. Please, please, please, donât be transphobic as a âgotchaâ.
Iâve blocked so many people today with âallyâ in their bio who are gleefully misgendering and deadnaming and spouting the most transphobic tropes towards Jenner. It fucking sucks.

There is so much to criticize Jenner about that has nothing to do with which marginalized group she may belong to.
That they see this as the most important factor shows they donât really give a fuck about the real issues.

Itâs so weird (enraging, upsetting, demoralizing, etc) to me how many people just see politics as some kind of game of âHAHAHA, GOTCHAâ rather than as a means of organizing our society to serve all of us. So many people have just⌠entirely lost the plotâŚ

Our youngest voiced concerns about this with her docs, who reassured her that they are not going anywhere. Then wrote 6 months of meds. Yeah, a little concerned.

Same. Iâve never used Arch or Rust, but I am in IT (information security specifically) and tick a lot of the stereotype boxes. I have however, installed Gentoo Linux from source (albeit 20 years ago now).

It strikes me that this happens a lot with all women. Like when a Congressional panel is convened to discuss womenâs health, and thereâs not a single woman on the panel. Which just further cements for me the truth that transphobia is rooted in misogyny.

Indeed. I have been paying more attention to the demonization of trans women, while trans men are utterly ignored. Misogyny is at the heart of a lot of the current right-wing hysteria. Not all of it, but a lot.

Of course trans men are mostly ignored. People consider them to really be women. Misogyny is still at work there, just in a different way.

I think itâs also the way transmasculinity makes sense to patriarchs. Why wouldnât women want to move up into the dominant social gender? Itâs cute to them. âAww, the little wimmins think theyâre men.â
Transfemininity absolutely breaks their brains, because we are choosing to move down in the hierarchy.
