Thread of assholes

“the officials leaving the mayor’s office are Meera Joshi, deputy mayor for operations; Chauncey Parker, deputy mayor for public safety; Maria Torres-Springer, who served as first deputy mayor; and Anne Williams-Isom, the deputy mayor for health and human services.”

The asshole is for Adams. Those who quit are she-roes & heroes.

Did they eat it?

It’s crazy to think I gave Brand a pass all those years ago because of his W joke (about America being so enlightened we “let a retarded cowboy be president”), in spite of his obviously massive ego and inability to button a shirt. What a fool I was.

That situation is really heating up:

And heating up even more

Let’s remember — for the last mayoral election Eric Adams was up against Curtis Sliwa. That would have been much worse.

Why are you saying we should remember that? Would Sliwa be his replacement?

Indeed.

It may be that Hochul doesn’t just feel obligated as gov to remove a dysfunctional (and/or corrupt mayor). It may also be that she feels obligated to prevent the president from having the NYC mayor as his own personal stooge. Tramp would be incensed.

I bet she won’t sleep well tonight.

I read that as the Controller giving the Governor a reasonable pretext to removing the Mayor. Based upon a process.

Not just acting unilaterally. I can’t imagine that there haven’t been discussions.

No, he would not be the replacement. I see some questions elsewhere asking, “why was Adams even elected?” Well, Curtis Sliwa is the reason why.

I’m late in replying but I just saw this. My dad graduated from Northside High School in Ft. Worth back in the 1950s. Back then, it was a poor, working class, mostly white, neighborhood. My grandparents still lived in that neighborhood when I was born, so I spent some time there. By the 1980s, the neighborhood was still poor and working class, but it was increasingly Hispanic. Even then, a lot of the billboards were in Spanish. If that asshole took a teaching job at Northside High, he knew the demographics of that school when he took the job, because that school has been predominantly Hispanic for 40 years. What an asshole.
