I’m late in replying but I just saw this. My dad graduated from Northside High School in Ft. Worth back in the 1950s. Back then, it was a poor, working class, mostly white, neighborhood. My grandparents still lived in that neighborhood when I was born, so I spent some time there. By the 1980s, the neighborhood was still poor and working class, but it was increasingly Hispanic. Even then, a lot of the billboards were in Spanish. If that asshole took a teaching job at Northside High, he knew the demographics of that school when he took the job, because that school has been predominantly Hispanic for 40 years. What an asshole.

That’s just to point out Republican’s hypocrisy. They have no shame, so it probably won’t work.

I’m gonna guess this is more related to “Running a business while Black.” And making shit up to complain about says there is nothing going on IRL to object to.

Geeze, just mute his mike already, and call him a toddler. Give him a time out.

I’m sure fans of that  loved it, because a man shouting at a woman to attack and/or ignore what she’s saying is a typical move. They think it shows dominance, so getting the target to stop talking or change the subject is seen as a win.

Can CNN please stop putting this asshat on the air?

But without access to / engagement with fascists, how will they capture the attention of MAGA/GOP supporters?

I’d like them to televise him getting an epic beatdown.

I had to read the Wikipedia article on Russell Brand because I was thinking of Oscar Brand and got really confused for a minute. It’s weird because the W joke isn’t the only thing I see in his history that made him seem like he’d be (relatively) okay. (e.g., appeared in a video supporting Chelsea Manning), but then took a serious nose dive during the pandemic. I’ve heard Covid Brain Fog is a thing but whatever it was, he went full tilt into the deep end very quickly.

Not at all. A stage presence can hide a lot of evils. (Witness: Neil Gamien and many others.)

It’s a gift. What the opposite of charismatic?

I think money is a more likely answer-- selling out your values to get in on the grift. Same for former feminist icon Naomi Wolf.
