Even if they were planning to keep to themselves at first, their communities would suck and they would quickly have to start blaming outsiders for it. And I think most of them know on an instinctive level that they don’t know how to build, only take. If they had the whole world they would still have to find another to stop from turning on each other.

He’s avoiding certain words because of YouTube content warnings / policies. References to sex, violence, or cursing can get videos flagged. That’s why you might hear creative ways to avoid saying them (or edited images of words displayed on the screen).

Which is another way of saying that YouTube’s pathological corporate priggishness is changing language.
“Unaliving” used to be a humorous construction, now it’s the only way a large number of people can talk publicly about death and murder while still being able to eat. And then to add insult to injury, it’s had to be extended to “self-unaliving” and “mass-unaliving”. And then they go into serious conversations about sexual assault, but they keep talking about “grape”.
Because heaven fucking forfend anyone talk openly about suicide prevention or the lessons from genocides past and present, or rape, or anything.

While I must admit my base response is “yes, please let these damn fools remove themselves from society” I keep circling back to what Stacey Patton describes here: the effects on the kids. As messed up as the adults are, the kids don’t deserve this and have a chance to escape that indoctrination as long as they aren’t prisoners, which is what they’d become in this situation. We already have small sample sizes of kids raised in cults, compounds, and other isolated social situations and know how much damage it does to them. I’d love if the adults removed themselves like that, but I think if they raise kids in that, it’s just going to be that much worse in the long run.

Ideas, like virusrs, do not respect borders. Especially ideas bound up in racism and misogyny. So long as there are “others” who do not bow to the supreme race/idea/leader, they will seek to subjugate them. “Hitler would have been alright if he stayed to Germany” was not a winning argument then, and still is not. Worth keeping in mind that the men may choose to be there, but not all the women will and none of the kids made that choice.
