Are they time travelers? Isn’t pre-neolithic a time period?
Also, you know who is really dangerous? Westerners traveling to places with people who have never met them before… at least that’s what studying history has taught me!
I suspect, like many other indigenous groups, they have a history of having met with outsiders, had a bad time as a result, and now refuse to let in outsiders, because usually that results in some kind of mass deaths or a massacre…
Generally, Neolithic describes a settled stone age culture that lives mostly or partially by farming. Earlier hunter-gatherers are Paleolithic (old stone age). The transitional period is the Mesolithic, and maybe that’s what they mean by “pre-neolithic”, although I don’t know what evidence they have for that.

There’s a picture in the article of this asshole holding a machine gun and grinning. Why am I not the least bit surprised? It’s a low bar for going better than it could have, but at least he didn’t shoot anyone?
I’m a bit worried by the fact that he supposedly spent an hour whistling, trying to get their attention, and he lived to tell the tale without any indication they were there.
Are we certain the last jerk who showed up didn’t bring a disease that killed them off in the interim?
TL;DR: A Brush with Bekah made paint from Yellowcake (which is not the most dangerous pigment she’s made paint from), and some dick on the internet claimed, at length, that she had endangered herself, her community, and her entire state.
She hadn’t, but that didn’t stop said dick from getting her doxed and threatened.
