Biking this morning, I stopped for pictures about 30 minutes from home. After more than two hours, I was already done with the pedaling but not done with the ride, so I was glad for the rest. You’ll note I stopped on a local maximum.
It’s been raining for the last few days and it’s forecast to continue this week, so I snuck one in during a break in the weather.
I suspect that cloud over the peak is a local weather system created by the forest there (moisture and lower temps) and maybe the upthrust of the landscape. I’ve seen that there before, and the last time (only other time) I went by on its left, there was local rainfall on the shoulder of the mountain.
Looking back the other way, I’ll get home by going to the red light, cutting through the church (you can barely make out the steeple) parking lot (iffy on a Sunday morning, but I was out early) to the crossroad then winding way back around out of frame to the left, ending up on the far side of that mountain then up onto it.
I’m not afraid of spiders; I just don’t want something that big to jump on me. Also saw a yellow fuzzy caterpiggle, but hid it and then couldn’t find it under one of our shrubbery. Speaking of cute fuzzy cat things…
my homie from way back was in town and wanted to see Bad Religion tonight at the new Masquerade. I hadn’t been to a punk show with tons of people and a pit in years, nor to the new venue, either.
it was ragin’, full on.
