I struggle to believe that centrist Dems actually think that abandoning trans folks will actually gain them any ground on the right. I suspect that it is more a case of they were actually transphobes all along and this is just a justification to let their freak flag fly. IOW, they are assholes, ready to abandon any oppressed group when the fascists target them. Their knowledge of history is sorely lacking.

Good article on the attack on that trans woman last year in the UK, including consequences for the attackers. I’m impressed the victim consented to release the CCTV footage of the attack, but like… don’t watch it unless you’ve got a strong constitution. I did and I regret it, but I do seem to engage in a bit of digital self harm far too readily.
