What we're currently living through is a patriarchal panic reaction.
Our society came a little too close to acknowledging trans people as not merely quirky zoo exhibits to gawk at on the margins of society. Too close to acknowledging our humanity.
The response to this has been sheer terror.
Even if the state manage to lock down and regulate every transition to produce only perfect porcelain dolls, programmed to happily accept their tradwife roles, it still wouldnât change the fundamental porosity of gender we demonstrate.
The curtainâs been ripped away. The magic trick has no mystery.
The catgirl is very, very much out of the bag.
So we have, frankly, edicts of the most absurd sort. Next to the inhumane torture and state-mandated carceral trafficking, we have nonsensical attempts at absolutle epistemicide. Kill gender ideology! Remove pronouns! Women are assigned at zygote!
Iâm telling you this because even amidst the totalizing horror, the magnifying lens placed on our communities, the attempted removal of us from all public life, I have hope.
I have hope because weâre still genderfreaks to many, sure.
However.
Weâre human to more people than ever, too.
I donât want to command you to have hope when you want to despair. I donât want to tell you to search for the silver lining in the darkest of clouds.
What I want to tell you is that they have ripped out our tongues, over and over and over, for as long as weâve existed.
We still found the words.
They call us slurs, and we laugh and make them identities.
They starve us and we feed each other.
They beat us and we dress each othersâ wounds.
They kill us, but still we rise from graves.
We will not be eradicated.
We will not be eliminated.
We will never be gone.
You will not have your perfect, colorless world, devoid of our joy and radicalism.
Your sane world will not survive us.
We will save each other, mourn those we could not, and we will remember their mindless, barbaric sacrifice at the hands of this monstrous ânormalityâ they are so keen to preserve.
And we will laugh when every one of their idols is dust between our toes.
This, I promise.
Now, more than ever.
If you are trans.
You have to live.

And what the fuck are you doing other than posting your slogans on Twitter, Brianna? Are you responsible for passing any nondiscrimination legislation? Started a non profit that provided tangible services to trans people? Supported mutual aid and got folks housing? Food? Health care? Protecting them from domestic violence? Connecting them with employment or benefits?

Imagine, wanting to be treated with actual decency and equality. Of course the worldâs most horrible people were going to throw a tantrum â and the blame for that must be placed entirely on their victims, for reasons.
All these people need to go back to the hell they love so much. I am sick of them dragging it here.
