âThey are lyingâ should be the default assumption at all times. Anyone taking these assholes at face value is either stupid or collaborating.
âGood guysâ seem to be almost non-existent. Cowardice and compliance are omnipresent, even among the people and organizations youâd expect to be resisting the most. It really feels like the vast majority of Americans have only been pretending to have any kind of integrity or deeply-held values, especially when trans people are being targeted. The second it becomes dangerous or even slightly inconvenient to hold on to those values, theyâre tossed aside without a second thought. I will never understand and I will never forgive, but Iâm in such an extreme minority that in the end it wonât matter to anyone. Weâre the weird ones for actually caring.
I just got this in email:
The U.S. Department of State approved your application for your passport card. Weâre now printing your passport card and preparing to give it to you.
You requested expedited service when you applied. Expedited service can take 2-3 weeks. Our processing times begin the day we receive your application at a passport agency or center, not the day you submit it. You should receive your passport card on or around 02/25/2025.
(They received my application on Jan 17 according to USPS, and notified me that they began processing it on Jan 21, so thatâs 4 weeks to now. Iâm not planning to need it for travel anyway. I assume they have changed my X to an M, but they havenât said anything at all about it so I really donât know. I donât feel at all confident actually using a passport card with an X at this point, even though I also kind of hope thatâs what I got. So⌠I dunno.)
The LGBT clinic in Washington, DC erases trans care.
Public comments are open on the changes to the passport application process. (Not that they havenât already implemented the changes.)
Note, you donât even have to be a US citizen to comment.
Message received and understood.
Love it! How does it feel, dipshits.
