God, this is so fucking stupid⌠so god damn stupid.
And you can tell thatâs a biological man on the sign because theyâre not wearing a skirt
Marco will personally inspect everyoneâs junk.
Even âBiological Manâ looks annoyed by all this.
The âbiologicalâ thing is just so stupid. Every human starts as biologically female for the first 6-7 weeks. Then the SRY gene, if any, might kick in and change things, using hormones. OR, it doesnât, but perhaps later in life the person starts taking those same hormones⌠causing them to become biologically male.
(Not that I think itâs okay to discriminate against trans folks who arenât on HRT, either. But Iâve seen the âbiological males shouldnât participate in womenâs sportsâ thing said about people who obviously had been on HRT for some time and whose bodies were, by any meaningful standard that could apply to sports, female.)
Iâm still not convinced thatâs true. They start out not biologically male, which has traditionally been considered female by people coming at things from a male perspective. But itâs not like theyâve actually developed any kind of female features either and presumably thereâs some whole series of changes necessary to bring those in too, just like the males ones. I think it would probably be more accurate to say an embryo isnât anything yet â itâs only a potential person.
I mean, what youâre saying definitely sounds good, that itâs the same change only later in life. ButâŚthen what about trans women? Do we say they changed and then went back? I wouldnât.
A lot of the âthere are two biological sexesâ camp also try to define them in terms of gametes, in which case a person would definitely still be neither when they are born. But as I said on the subject before, these people donât actually care about truth anyway, only power.
My real point is simply that the phrase âbiological manâ is just⌠frustratingly dumb.
I hope someone sues them for not having âBiological Intersexâ restrooms.
Also if Zuckerberg ever visited, as an android heâd be disqualified from the Biological Menâs room.
Thatâs accurate, and in a society the views âmaleâ as the default value and anything else as âfemale,â since, if course, not-male could only be female, it makes some sort of sense, i guess. But to assign a sex to a largely undifferentiated clump of cells ridiculous, especially given the myriad ways development can proceed from there regardless of the chromosomal complement. Best and most accurate description, IMHO, is that we start out intersex, with MĂźllerian and Wolfian systems in place and later one or the other may (or may not) regress. Once again, it is way complex, and any attempt to make it âsimple and obviousâ is flat wrong.
That sign does not look very well secured at all.
Weâll soon have bounties on our heads.
âFugitive Trans Actâ coming. When the underground railroad starts up, I want to be alerted. Our place is a safe spot. @womanhood_deferred, even though this was obviously coming, it is frightening as hell that it is actually here. You know other fascist-controlled states are teeing up similar laws. I hate it with a blazing passion.
Iâve been networking with the local trans community here in the valley (or at least a portion of them) and that might be something we start discussing, at least as far as mutual aid is concerned.
I believe any such discussions should occur in more secure environs, like DMs.
