Transphobic events

“We have reduced the attacks on cis women in bathrooms by trans people from zero to zero. Rapes by cis men are still at an all time high, with conviction rates still dropping, but we’ve proven how much we care about protecting women and girls. This policy works”

Yeah. Guess I’m faking it then, as I’m pushing fifty and I had a date last night with a nice lady 15 years my senior. /sarcasm

What benighted asshole is he and other bigots pulling this shit out of? Like… other than that one single school shooter, where are these mass waves of violent trans women he’s talking about? It’s just pure projection yet again on their part, as right wing violence aimed at marginalized people has always been a much bigger problem in the US than violence FROM marginalized people… it’s just a “let’s get them before they get us” mentality, but, FFS, no one wants to “get” them… Trans people just want to live their lives in peace as they see fit with access to all the other things that everyone wants…

If that were true Trump wouldn’t be here saying it.

And he never would have let Caitlyn Jenner visit Mar-a-lago.

Why are Democrats so eager to just give away their potential power? Can they just not convince people of the rightness of a cause?

The party could, if it had the will, get behind the messaging that the sports stuff is overblown, that it was strategically chosen as a wedge issue by the Republicans and it’s utterly ridiculous.

They could get behind the message that there have been exactly zero instances ever of trans women sexually assaulting cis women in public restrooms.

They could spread the message that the regret rate for transition is extremely low (far less than knee surgery, Hary Potter tattoos, or voting for Trump), and that gender-affirming care for minors has been very solidly proven to improve lives.

They could demonstrate actual dismay at the slander of transgender troops, and give the mic to trans veterans and to soldiers and officers who have had trans comrades beside them. (Even my racist, Obama-hating father in law respected the trans woman who reported to him when he was in the Air Force.)

They could put folks like Gov. Pritzker and Tim Walz in the spotlight. Or invite Pedro Pascal to speak for them, for that matter.

For every one Democrat I hear talking about protecting trans folks there are ten thinkpieces and interviews about how trans folks need to be thrown under the bus (again…) and it’s been this way for at least a full year.

…also I haven’t seen any evidence that voters dislike Walz, Pritzker etc. Granted I’m not an opinion pollster and live in my own social bubbles, but I see very little respect or enthusiasm for Newsom by comparison…

But they’re not real Americans - they’re from the coastal elite- not the heartland. People like them could never get elected outside of the Northeast or California!

Some of the right wing nutjobs are claiming that the Minnesota shooter has some connection to the trans rights movement, not that he’s trans himself. It’s still a complete fabrication. There’s not one single bit of information or evidence about that guy’s life to suggest he has ever been connected to the trans community, maybe not even to hate on it. He seems to kind of be a single issue hater: abortion.

They will always try to pin the blame on those evil others. Every damn time. It hurts their feelings to say they are almost always straight white Christian conservative men. Not terrorists, of course, because “white.” Every accusation a confession.

SCOTUS upheld TN law restricting gender affirming care for minors on my tv.

The text of the courts decision

Wow, that is some weaselly bullshit in the text, especially on page 3 and 4.

The law doesn’t exclude trans people, it just excludes literally every kind of care that trans people need that other people don’t and therefore it isn’t discriminatory?

If a transgender boy seeks testosterone to treat gender dysphoria, SB1 prevents a healthcare provider from administering it to him. If his biological sex were changed from female to male, SB1 would still not permit him the hormones he seeks because he would lack a qualifying diagnosis.

And how the fuck does one change his “biological sex” from female to male? Hmm, the answer seems to be right there in the previous sentence…

It doesn’t even make sense!

Ripping healthcare away from hundreds of thousands of Americans is a distraction from ripping healthcare away from millions of Americans?
