What a ripoff; there’s no Rockefellers in that.

What an old white person sausage fest.
Odd that their research starts by assuming that something exists rather than exploring the subject. Doesn’t sound very scientific.
What a hive of scum and villainy…
I don’t think I can go to the extreme of saying autogynophilia definitely does not exist. There are some papers discussing it, and there are people with turn-ons that I do not understand. But to use this to try to erase trans women is just not intellectually honest. Are there guys who are turned on by imagining themselves as women? Maybe, even probably. But to my understanding, trans women are not imagining themselves as women. They are women. That is not a kink or a quirk, it is what they are. That is a very different thing! But, just like “Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria,” this will be used (without actually studying or talking to any trans people) as a reason to erase trans people from existence. (Also, as always, they are focused on trans women. To these assholes, trans men just do not exist.)
One of the things that led me to realizing my gender identity was finding the Crossdreamers website. When it was still in its early days and the author was still figuring things out, he used the term “autogynephilia” and talked about Blanchard fairly frequently. But eventually he came to the conclusion that trans folks already had:
- Blanchard is a bigot who came up with a bad idea to explain something he doesn’t understand, gathered evidence that disproved the idea, then accused the evidence of lying and continued for decades anyway.
- “Autogynephilia” is not even worth reclaiming.
I don’t be graphic about it, but there are many people in the kink community that enjoy “CNC” scenes – consensual non-consensual. These scenes can be brutal, harsh, and often involve forcing the bottom to perform acts they may not otherwise do. The existence of this sort of activity does not invalidate the concept of sexual assault.
I won’t examine someone’s kink unless it affects me personally and I can accept that some people do get turned on by dressing up like the “opposite” gender … or like nurses, firefighters, Smurfs, Spiderman, or whatever else floats their proverbial boat. None of that has any bearing on a persons actual gender or other real situation, no matter how much it may superficially seem similar.
I do know that some people, especially early in their journey, may experience both “crossdressing” as a kink and later discover they’re trans gender. Finally having a way to safely explore that side of their being can allow them to unlock parts of themselves they did not even know existed. Again, this doesn’t mean being trans gender is a kink thing it just means exploring a kink allowed them to break down a wall they didn’t even know was there.
These assholes have a stupidly limited view of the wide range of human experience and want so much to drag the rest of us back down to their level. This isn’t even a crab bucket situation, they’re the fuckers trying to put the crabs in the bucket in the first place.
Their analysis is flawed on so many fronts. Really misconstrued sexuality of trans women- if you like men - you’re not ag - if you like women you are. If you say you’re not described by their simplistic binary- you’re lying. Yet the majority of trans folk are bi.
That if you’re a non ag woman your professional aspirations and abilities are limited to hairdressers etc. That you’re naturally predisposed to being a sex worker. That trans women aren’t necessarily intelligent- they’re just hyper vocal.
And on and on. And let’s not ignore the professional misdeeds of some of the proponents. Providing therapy without being licensed. Sleeping with their subjects. That some of them testifying against trans care have been slapped down by the courts for never having treated trans people. And having specialties of expertise in say - sexual offenders.
This is a deeply flawed set of characters.
CORRECT. It should be more widely known as “fancy way to insult a trans person”, and should result in an instant, full-strength response. possibly involving physical violence, even.
So, seeking to bar trans people from appearing in public. Seems about on par…
