I don’t think she was fighting the fight in Czechoslovakia at age 12, but I could be wrong.
She didn’t come out of the closet until after she became a US citizen that same year. My guess it was probably because she was worried about it affecting her application for US citizenship.
Btw, when I was getting my teaching credential in Social Sciences duering the early aughts, teaching about Stonewall was part of the Civil Rights curriculum. We discussed all of the LGBTQ participants, not just G or LGB people. Martina can go fuck off.
