(US) Representative Follies

Many responses posted to Twitter were ripped from popular military movies and books, including “The Caine Mutiny,” “Dr. Strangelove,” “M.A.S.H.” and “A Few Good Men.”

Peter Lucier, a Marine Corps veteran who served in Afghanistan, landed on “Starship Troopers” for his submission. Channeling Johnny Rico from the book and film, Lucier wrote that the human slaughter on planet Klendathu spurred a decision to become an officer. But now he has to sit through History and Moral Philosophy.

“Kill the bugs,” Lucier stated as his goals in a field on the submission form.

A spokesperson for Crenshaw said the office is sifting through submissions to vet them but did not say how many appeared to be satirical.

CCP influence?

My days of not taking DeSantis seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

CCP? So are Florida kids learning from Mao’s Little Red Book?

Good comment:

“Governor, I’m sorry to hear that your wife invited a process server into your home for sex. Shit happens.”

Wait is he a governor?

According to the CCP, Mao was right on about 70% of the issues.

… Which is fairly typical for a thinking human being.

I suppose the GQP figures that if they can oppose Mao at every turn, they will be right on 30% of the issues.

… Although I’m not sure they’ll ever get that high.

There’s now video footage from the Rep’s security camera of this absolutely horrible trespass and accosting. The process server… stepped into the open garage and served the papers on the wife as she stepped out of her car.

HORRIBLE! SNEAKING!

Did she go behind the car to get the plate number? Or to possibly block them from leaving?

I’m so tempted to say something about them getting high. But I just don’t think they’ll ever get high enough to perceive reality.

It doesn’t seem like there would be much point in getting the plate number of a legit process server, but even less point in trying to prevent them from leaving. No idea on that one.

Is he being sarcastic? Is he smart enough to know what sarcasm is, or how to use it?

Or is he genuinely that stupid?

her response deserves an academy award for best performance.

You could definitely see her brain freeze for a moment while discarding a couple of alternative ways to respond, though.

Only Bender can do that, and he hasn’t been built yet.

That’s genuine.
