(US) Representative Follies

Been watching “Bio-Dome”, has he?

I keep sayin’, microdose 'em with some acid…either they get enlightened or have bad trips, but hey, sounds win-win to me.

“Upon information and belief, Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi [D-Calif.] has instituted an unconstitutional policy of enforcing the Screening Rule against only members of the Republican minority in the House of Representatives, and exempting members of the Democratic majority from its enforcement, resulting in only Republican members being fined and having their congressional salaries reduced, all for the purpose of creating a false narrative for the political benefit of the House Democratic majority,” the lawsuit states.

A plot against Republicans? Or, maybe, it’s just that no members of the majority have been total dicks about the whole thing…

Metal detectors? Bah! A gentleman would beat the scoundrels with his walking stick, sir!

right? like maybe it’s because the minority party are more likely to try to carry guns onto the floor, and have been prone to try to skip the detectors and feign umbrage about them.

For that matter, according to the article only six members total have been hit with fines. For something supposedly targeting the minority, it’s a rather small number of them who seem to be involved.

Of course, their lawsuit also tries to claim that the disciplinary fine violates the 27th amendment by changing the representatives’ salaries. Which is creative, but also total crap.

Why was that walking pile of stinking sewage allowed to be anywhere near the Holocaust Museum?

i’m surprised she’d even HEARD of the place, let alone was allowed to go in and then talk about it.

Maybe they thought, against the odds, that she might actually learn something?

Reps. Brian Stewart and Mark Fraizer, both Republicans representing districts that border Householder’s, encouraged their colleagues to “do the right thing” and remove Householder from his seat.

“If racketeering, bribery and money laundering do not constitute disorderly conduct, then frankly nothing ever could,” Stewart said.

Householder and four associates were arrested in July in an investigation connected to the nuclear bailout legislation, House Bill 6, which contained a $1 billion ratepayer-funded rescue that would have added a new fee to every electricity bill in the state and directed over $150 million a year through 2026 to the plants near Cleveland and Toledo.

Householder faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Both Whitehouse and his wife Sandra as well as their families have been members of the club for decades. Whitehouse did transfer his shares in the club to his wife years ago, and she is now one of the largest shareholders in the all-white club. The club’s membership is a who’s who Newport, Palm Beach, and New York wealth.

“It’s a long tradition in Rhode Island and there are many of them and I think we just need to work our way through the issues, thank you,” said Whitehouse as he was ushered away by a staffer.

She was the first person I figured they would pick.
