Empire. Bipartisan.
Well, duh. Itâs all about the money and keeping people who arenât white away from it and the comforts and necessities it can bring to them. And I donât think itâs a conspiracy; you get all the leaders together of all stripes, and Iâll bet they couldnât decide on what to order for lunch. Itâs more like a loose confederation-of-convenience/compromise, depending on the who gets the majority of support. Or something like that, is my take on it.
Two days ago:
This is the image currently popular on Western Twitter to portray the fate of Afghan women:
An upmarket fashion/beauty parlour in Kabul, hastily covering up advertising, presumably due to the Talibanâs disapproval of graven images.
How many Afghan women do you think had access to this sort of thing? Was it available to the majority of Afghan peasant women, or was it reserved for a tiny minority of the Westernised elite in Kabul? How do their prices compare to median Afghan wages?
