Remnants of the RNC-GOP attempting to leverage the Moore defeat into an attack on the Bannonites:

Good interview with the DSA person behind the brake light idea.

The point was that the Clinton campaign was blamed for taking DNC money from local races and spending it in other places, when the money from the JFA was meant for local races and the DNC officers reallocated it to different places.

I have a habit of putting my preferences in more modern history as most relevant to a given cause, and Boston is an example where a school board race sparked violent riots that ended with the white people rioting successfully re-segregating Boston piblic schools in the late 80s. Thirty years later huge racial divides are still a huge problem that white people pretend were solved in the 60s, or that only mattered in the South where people are racist.

Not surprisingly, it’s mostly a bunch of dudes piling on.

Yup.

That has the potential to turn genuinely nasty. Some are already there.

The terrorism thread at the other place is severely straining my temper. 44’s breezy enthusiasm for murderous imperialism drives me batty.

I’m struggling to think of a way to engage that won’t rapidly devolve into blunt contempt.

His continued equivocation of Roy Moore and everybody else in politics has been annoying me too.

A bit superfluous for this crowd, but very well done:

Might be handy for anyone still talking to conservatives, north or south.

A bit of background.
A few years back, Clapton FC, a step 5 non-league team*, were adopted by the local Antifa and other left wing groups who formed the Clapton Ultras. Since then their attendance numbers have gone up from low double figures to about 350. They are passionate supporters but don’t intend to cause problems (they would prefer to solve them), unfortunately the far right aren’t so restrained.

Anyway, if there was going to be a problem, you would think that the Metropolitan Police, of all teams, would be able to find a bit more security for the game.

* 5 divisions below the professional EFL.

I now have a non-AFL football team to support.

Do you think the Ultras will succeed in converting the club to fan control? I’m tempted to buy a jersey, but I wouldn’t want to send money to the current dodgy Board. Lucky for me, their colours match my existing team.

FC St Pauli in Hamburg are also known for having left wing supporters.

St. Pauli enjoys a certain fame for the left-leaning character of its supporters: most of the team’s fans regard themselves as anti-racist, anti-fascist, anti-homophobic and anti-sexist, and this has on occasion brought them into conflict with neo-Nazis and hooligans at away games. The organization has adopted an outspoken stance against racism, fascism, sexism, and homophobia and has embodied this position in its constitution.[15] Team supporters traditionally participate in demonstrations in the Hamburg district of St. Pauli, including those over squatting or low-income housing, such as the Hafenstraße and Bambule. The centre of fan activity is the Fanladen St. Pauli.

The club made transphobia a bannable offence in the 1990s.

History of Leninist dickery:

Stole the 1917 election from the Democratic Socialists.

OTOH, there’s plenty of room to critique the Socialist-Revolutionary Party (AKA the Russian DemSocs) as well. They were led by Kerensky, who was responsible for this:
