The argument seems to reflect the same sort of philosophical envy that motivated de Maistre.
“What inconceivable magic is it which makes a man always ready at the first beat of the drum […] to go without resisting, often even with a kind of eagerness (which also has a peculiar character of its own), in order to blow to pieces on the field of battle his brother who has done him no wrong, and who on his side advances to subject him to the same fate, if he can?”
also, it’s clickbait.

Excellent news.
A good next step: closing overseas military bases.
Normally, I’m not a fan of isolationism, but with the kind of catastrophic foreign policy that the US typically has, it seems like it may the better option.
Afaik, the State Department supported the Free Syrian Army, against Assad, parts of which went over the Isis/Isil/Daesh; the Department of “Defense” continues to support other forces, notably the Kurdish self-defense-forces, against Isis/Isil/Daesh, and which are now defending their territory against Erdogan. I would NOT call the YPG “right wing death squads.”
By “right-wing death squads”, Max is referring to the al Qaeda-linked US-supported groups fighting near Damascus. His position is that the “moderate rebels” that the US supposedly supports are pretty much non-existent, and almost all of the US support is actually going to Islamist terror groups instead.
As far as I can tell, the US is no longer offering any support to Rojava.
Pretty much in agreement with what I’ve been thinking.
Translation:
“US officially pissed off that the DPRK and South Korea are doing just fine without their meddling; decide to punish Kim by enacting sanctions and use months old murder mystery to justify the action”
