Bitter oranges, is it? Might they happen to be Seville oranges (pronounced “civil arnge” in Jamaica) ???

If they are civil arnges, the juice is extremely healthy, and is consumed Pon de Island for immune support, and by those suffering from colds and infections. I drank it often, diluted with water. I’d fill my drinks bottle 1/4 to 1/3 of the way w/juice, then top it off w/water.

I think it’s that women are so often listed as wanting to be a female doctor, female lawyer, female engineer, etc. that the sign is giving equal time to male professions.

special organs on your body are blossoming from dormancy into full-time regular use

That is…definitely a way someone could describe things.

these bitter oranges could be that what you describe.
here they are mostly used as organic cleaning solutions for mopping, wiping counters and appliances. disinfectant, non toxic and smells nice.
come to think of it, it was a Jamaican woman what taught me that. never knew it could help when one feels puny.
cool!

sorry to belabor this discussion, but our bitter oranges are not hybrids of any mix of pomelo and orange. these are the wild citrus - mostly green oranges that are the rootstock to the florida oranges that were grafted onto them.
after a particularly hard freeze in Pasco County, mum’s sweet oragnes died back to the rootstock, leaving the bitter oranges to “take over” the fruiting. they are much heartier and flourish after the grafts have died.
we had a cleaning crew come in as we left Pasco to come down here, and the woman asked about all the oranges on the trees on the property. when i told her they were bitter, she wanted them all the more. that is when i learned her special cleaning mix using the oranges.
wild oranges in florida are not sweet, but they can make tile floors shine!

It definitely is some weird, odd verbiage.

Truly wild citrus were native to Asia, and all of the oranges originated from hybridization unless you count mandarins. Bitter oranges were an older cross than sweet oranges, from long before any were brought to the Americas.
