In his autobiography My Life, Bill Clinton recalls a trip he made to the Alamo restaurant to see country legend Dolly Parton perform. Clinton describes Tony Alamo as “Roy Orbison on speed.”
And she was use to market those jackets in 1989. No idea if she knew about that.
“He makes jackets for all the stars,” said Shirley Blenner, a saleswoman at Twist, a boutique on Melrose Avenue where three Alamo jackets were on sale last week for prices ranging from $360 to $680. I just went ahead and re-vaxed, just a few moments ago. Quicker, easier, and cheaper than the rigmarole of going to PCP to authorize a titer and then to the lab to get the titer.
Oddly, perhaps sinisterly, my pharmacy, Publix, mentions the MMR vaccine on its main vaccine page, but it’s not listed in the drop-down menu when you select the vaccine for your appointment. I had to call in.
