I love watching cats solve problems. During the 7cm trial, the cat’s facial expression and tail movements make it look like it’s saying, “once I figure out how to get under this cardboard, I am going to attack you and eat you, and I don’t give a damn if I never get another belly rub in my life.”

The painting, which the owner had hung above a hotplate in her kitchen, will be auctioned in France on 27 October.
