That troll has been doubling down on his efforts over the last few days at TOS.
TOP has been a cesspool of trolls this weekend. This person has been particularly determined to sew discord and create drama.
My spidey-sense is tingling (or maybe I am just being paranoid), but Ken is being handwavily vague, too. It feels like something is going on.
I could look at post dates but that would be actual work, so that’s not happening, but it seems to me Cory’s pattern has been to post in big blasts, with several posts coming up on big days, then some time off. It has seemed at least weekly though.
And, Cory has so many irons in the fire, I wouldn’t blame him if he let a couple cool off for a while.
It is weird not to see him listed on the masthead though.
And, I did notice one day recentl Xeni posted like 15 new articles in a row, which is not her pattern.
Anyway, not trying to stir up anything, especially not sourced from a troll.
No, I get it, you’re cool.
It would appear to be for real:
If so, that’s the end of an era.
Kind of surprising to see such a long time contributor leave - even if on sabbatical - with basically no fanfare.
Darn.
Yeah, my feeling as well. It feels leels like a loss. I need global-scale idealists.
IMO Cory’s twitter feed is very busy and it’d be a lot of work to read through that to be notified of his think pieces. I’ll try subscribing to craphound.com and see if that’s any better.
Not only surprising, but odd. Wonder if there’s conflict with, perhaps, Jason?
His podcast is a good source for those, he reads some of them.
But who would ever have a conflict with Jason?

Lol, indeed. He’s such a benign publisher.
Came back to say a thread over there seems to suggest it might have something to do with Xeni and her opposition to Glenn Greenwald.
Here’s something a bit more upbeat.
An aunt-in-law of mine is retiring and casually said to me, “You play the ukulele? I have an instrument for you.” She gave me a ukulin. This instrument was sold door-to-door in the 50s. You play the melody with a bow and strum the chords on the bottom. The whole thing is a complete Edsel. It was hard to tune, expensive to own, and not as easy to play as demonstrated. The one I have is in good condition because it was barely played but it definitely needs tuning.
I’m trying to imaging how you play it without at least three hands.
seems to be among the more competant ukelin videos on youtube.
But where are the model trains?
