Well this is interesting

I get that with Sylvia, but she won’t meow in that instance, it goes right from purr to hissssss, and possibly a sort of bite, but more like a “remember, I still got teeth, asshole”. The bad part is that it’s super cute when she hisses, but I know it means she’s pissed.

Our cats would say, “You warn them? That’s no fun. Go from purr to nibble directly. Keeps the staff on their toes.”

We had a stray hang around for a few months a couple of years ago, and we called him M’Rau because that’s what he said! He was pretty friendly, so I thought perhaps he was lost. I put an ad in Craigslist about a found cat, and got a call. The dad and daughter who came took him home, but the dad was certain it was not the original cat. At the same time, M’Rau let her pick him up, so it seemed like enough of a match for me! I hope the kid and M’Rau are very happy together, after his months living rough in a barn.

@RAvery - I’ve seen this word before (used as a pejorative by his mother to King George V made to him by his mother when he wore a ceremonial Prussiain uniform) but didn’t know what it referred to.

Remember when bikers and the punks used to dig on Nazi symbols only because it drove “citizens” nuts and not because they actually believed in the philosophy behind that? They all OD’d or crashed to death, didn’t they?

Nazis really nailed it on symbology and propaganda. Sharp colors (red white and black), bold symbols (swastika and lightning strikes), the way they set up for events and parades, the uniforms, even the way they named things (the Tiger, Panther, etc.) And that’s aside from the speeches and stuff. Just from a purely aesthetic view, it’s an aesthetic that’s really easy to like.

People these days should know better than to associate with it though. Because that really cool aesthetic symbolizes a lot of really bad other stuff. But here we are.

You’ll have to remind me which word you mean.

Oops!
Pickelhaube

thanks, but did I write about that?

You didn’t - I was calling your attention to it because um…well, there was a reason I thought you’d think it was interesting. Something to do with protection during battle and the awfulness of the Germans before WWII, I bleeve.

This also has a clip of Edward G. as Dr. Zaius. I’m kind of glad he didn’t do it; but he did get to play a more sympathetic and human version of the character in “Soylent Green”.

Oh yeah, they remade these, correct? I saw the first one, but ecch.

That was some real voting fraud. But the other side played by the same rules.

The rules are changing again. Instead of regular voter suppression, gerrymandering, and lingering old-style fraud, we have new convenient transparent standards. Oregon of all places leading the way.

Effects in the intro, also possibly in cartoon itself that could prove to be hurtful. Also a stupid fucking logo in the lower right corner of frame.
