The drummer, the late Jon Hiseman, was the bandleader’s spouse. He was an influential rock drummer in his own right (Graham Bond Organisation, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Colosseum, Tempest, Colosseum 2), but Barbara has the MBE for her part in British jazz.

Edit: A bit more of interest. I’m really just coming upon Thompson’s work for the first time.
