They’ve been up on the torrent sites for almost 24 hours now

I’m hip; that’s how I’m watching it now.

But if I was actually paying for Netflix, I’d be a mighty dissatisfied customer.

It’s on now. :smiling_imp:

Funny how the same sentence meant something different 10 hours ago.

Or even from moment to moment, depending upon the context.

I got through 2½ eps so far.

Unfortunately Netflix can only afford 10 episodes per year, I guess?

And they’re slogging through the “Will Luci and Chloe kiss again?” thing AGAIN? They already devoted two different previous seasons to this. THE ACTORS ARE FORTY YEARS OLD. We deserve something more sophisticated by now. Especially since there’s no room for filler anymore.

On the other hand, Linda is awesome. They should just have a whole series about Linda.

They had to completely change the setup of the show to tell the story they wanted to tell. Tone, resetting character arcs, all subtle tweaking of what we already know. In about two shows. With blowjob jokes.

OMG, What We Do in the Shadows just aired their best episode yet. I can’t even describe why, because it’s so great.

Yes, the movie was good, but the series is even better.

we started watching HBO’s “Chernobyl” last night. it’s exactly the lighthearted summer romp we were expecting. :worried:

That reminds me. I’ve only ever watched the first half of Titanic. I really should go back and see the part where Jack manages to rescue the ship and live happily ever after with Rose.

yes, no spoilers, but Chernobyl has the same happy arc, but with sores and vomiting. and that’s just episode one!

I watched Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick last night. I wish they’d add more films to the series.

This guy. I think his approach to things is fairly sensible. And I like his accent. Plus, he’s helped me in the past.

…The Riddick series is obscure enough that I honestly can’t tell whether this is a “When is George Lucas going to make his Star Wars prequels?” post.

I’ll gamble and assume you’re being earnest here:

That is a safe assumption, I didn’t know there was a 3rd one

Cool!

In that case… I posted what I did because, based on what I heard from the movie, I believed that someone who enjoyed the first two movies might want to deny the existence of the third. By all means, watch it… but you may want to adjust your expectations downward a bit.

If they’d kept the same writers and actors for the sequels it would have been a lot better. In fact, if they’d followed the normal horror-movie template and killed Riddick off instead of Fry, that might have been ideal.

Chronicles of Riddick isn’t terrible, but it’s a step down from the diverse, relatable characters in the first movie. Everybody in CoR is a SUPER EDGY hit-man or bounty-hunter or genocidal war criminal. I mean, people like that exist, but I don’t know any of them and if one of them showed up at my house I would run away.

Killjoys and Alien Resurrection kind of have the same problem, I guess.
