Whatcha Watchin'?

This is a fun little quiz show with some neat tech making it all work.

Since I can’t find the rest of “The Bob Newhart Show” (season five, specifically) to watch online for free without having to open an account, I’ve gone on to “Newhart”, season one.

TL;DR It’s not really ending, they’re allegedly splitting it into (at last count) four other shows

Only four? If they diversified a bit more, and went all out, they could make it AMC: All Mortality-Challenged. :stuck_out_tongue:

“Reel Injun” from 2009, a doco about the treatment of Native American and First Nations peoples, on Tubi.

Lovecraft Country is great, but the ending of the fourth ep is problematic.

Also, I started watching Two Weeks to Live, which I quite enjoy.

They get it back, i think? Already on the trailing rewatch w/roomie.

Not sure what you mean.

In the mood of the trailer that’s been pretty much everywhere I’ve looked today, I went back and watched the 1984 Dune.

I still don’t like the “inner monologue” stuff (it also annoyed the heck out of me in the book after a certain point), and the “weirding modules” choice was, well… weird. But otherwise, I still like that version. It really could have used a chance to spread out over a second movie or something so it could do more showing and less telling, but…

Exactly. It should have been, at least, two movies. But I still love it.

In the middle of the episode I had an epiphany—this show is a video game

Interesting theory.

Do elaborate, s’il vous plait?

Exploring underground catacombs that can’t possibly be that big, the bridge that would crack under three people’s weight if it were a real object, and then it starts disappearing without falling, they have to solve all these little puzzles and the elevator still works even though it’s under water

It just seems like video game logic to me, that’s where I’ve seen that style of storytelling before

Dude… magic.

It’s freakin’ Lovecraftian; accepting the supernatural or the impossible as fact is kind of a necessity.

There was some other movie I was thinking about going back and watching, but when I went to look I couldn’t for the life of me remember what it was.

Soooo… I settled on rewatching a shut the brain off, popcorn flick. Something old and silly, with no possibility of parallels to the present day.

Shit. I swear, the intro is Trump’s wet dream. It’s just missing a plague.

On the bright side, at least I know who’s cast as the bad guys…

More like the Goonies. Did no one else notice that they were under constant pressure with only 2 hours for all of that, and although they entered in Boston, the elevator out was in Chicago?! Also that a water trap in a damp environment is probably the second-worst possible place to preserve an ancient document other than maybe hiding it in the fireplace?

Lovecraftian magic for sure.

I have seen Fuad Ramses naked.

Did you peep the glyphs? That elevator is not only haunted, it’s spelled.
