No, no, those say “elavoter”. It’s misspelled.
No, I haven’t watched any of the show, but that one was too easy. Sorry.
Ever since @Lucy_Gothro1 got me interested I’ve been watching All In The Family to wind down before bed. It’s so well done and still so funny. And it hangs in my head all day - the way they tackled things back then that we’re still dealing with today.
But crackle.com only has most of the first two seasons and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else. Justwatch tells me I could get two more seasons by paying $20 each to Apple, but I’m already paying so much for multiple streaming services and cable that I am not ok with that.
And now I know that The Jeffersons were a spinoff and so was Maude. So many shows to watch, and they’re mostly just not available. Except by pirating.
So I’m that weird old guy pirating 70s-80s TV shows. Because all the many services that I pay for just won’t make them available. So frustrating.
I found many of them on Dailymotion.
Yeah, gosh, who’d do a thing like that? So weird!
At least you’re choosing ones that were successful? I’ve got at least two in my collection that were single-season flops, and one of these days I’ll figure out where the episodes of Greatest American Hero and Misfits of Science that I’d found ended up at…
Alien without the aliens, in an alternate history with different religions
Just watched the Mystery Science Theater 3000 version of “Mac and Me”.
This was the one movie of the 12th season that I recognized the name of, and images of it were instantly recognizable.
So… I’m about 70% certain that my only previous exposure to this movie was through marketing, trailers, etc. I have vivid recollections of that alien face sucking on a soda, but nothing else. And, let me tell ya, there’s no way I would have made it though the first 20 minutes of that without the snide remarks. And oh my god the product placements…
I also think “Look at all those cars! Pretty nice.” and “They shaved Alf!” have imprinted on my memory now. (Also “He looks like Teddy Ruxpin with the face sucked off”, but personally I would have gone with Furby.)
I may be watching “Atlantic Rim” tonight too, though I’m not entirely sure I can last through it…
it seriously is one of the worst movies i’ve ever seen, not sure if i can even recommend hate-watching it, lol.
Hah… “Mac and Me”, or “Atlantic Rim”?
On the bright side, at least Mac and Me had less stock footage and horrible CGI…
oh, Mac & Me by FAR! lol
Have you ever seen Nukie?
Oof, I never even saw Greatest American Hero, but one place I worked they played that theme song over and over on the muzak for years. That and the song about the guy with diamonds in his shoes are forever stuck in my head as mopping the floor songs.
The boss liked them, but whenever he was off we’d jack the sound system and put on Metallica or AC/DC or Lords of Acid or something. I brought my boombox to work for that.
omg, NO. judging by that trailer, i can tell it’s a serious contender…
I feel your pain, but I gotta admit, larval me loved that show.
It may have been less the show itself and more the idea of getting a superhero suit without getting the manual. But I’ve still got a soft spot for the song too. Difficult key changes and all…
Speaking of single-season flops, I was fascinated by this show as a kid:
I’m a bit afraid to watch it now. I’m pretty sure it’s dreadful.
Three syllables:
Manimal.
I loved that show! It was almost like they were trying to bring the X-Men to the small screen. And Dean Paul Martin…
At least it’s not Street Hawk?
Yes, I half expect someone to leap to the defense. But, really, “all-terrain attack motercycle”? 300mph?
…ok, I thought it was kinda cool too. Though Airwolf and Night Rider still had it beat.
but Manimal was a popular show, wasn’t it? it survived more than one season, didn’t it? (i am resisting googling it…)
