Thanks!
Watched it, prolly at the same time you did.
I love Carl Perkins and his music. Iâve covered some of his stuff, and folks - er, the guys - are always surprised that not only do I know about him, but I can sing his songs.
ohh, died and gone to R&R&B heavenâŠ
I watch these not only for entertainment, but to learn from.
Ad Astra.
some of our people have been unable to handle the psychological distress of being so far away from home
Iâm watching the first episode in clip form on YT. It takes me back to âThe Rite of Springâ and âThe Herculoidsâ, with incredible backgrounds that look like something out of Winsor McCay.
And yet, itâs ALL Genndy and Co.
Been trying out the indie + comedy tags on tubi.
One that I really liked was Future '38. Itâs about a guy from 1938 who time-travels to 2018 in order to stop Hitler. Only, itâs a 1938 futuristâs vision of 2018, in bright âspect-a-colorâ complete with all the old-timey patter in the dialogue that they had in classic movies back then, and silly anachronisms. And it has a good ending.
Last nightâs pick was The Big Empty, about a broke out-of-work guy who takes on an odd job for his nutball conspiracy theory neighbor. He ends up in a small town in the middle of nowhere where everyoneâs weird, and then his odd job gets odder. Pretty fun movie with good music.
A great set of guest stars, including early Albert Brooks!
I want Geraldineâs wardrobe, btw, but Iâd need shoulder and other pads, lol.
Some guy once told me disparagingly that Flip liked to dress up as Geraldine âa little too muchâ. At the time, I wondered what he was implying (this was in the '90s). Now, I donât care, and wonder if maybe it was like therapy for him, as disguise can be if facilitated properly.
After the medley is the sketch where Bing is a fez-wearing customer at a Playboy Club and Geraldine is the Bunny at whose table he sits at. I remember watching it when it was first run. The rest, no, lol.
