And this guy.
I think my son had the book of that! He loved Wishbone!
The Jose Ferrer version is probably one of my favorite movies, has been since the first time I saw it, back in my college days.
I liked the Gerard Depardieu version too, but for whatever reason it just didnāt have the same impact. Iāve never been able to get into Roxanne, but Iāve been meaning to give it another try. Seeing Peter Dinklageās movie is much higher on my list though (thanks @LockeCJ!)
Although I donāt always agree with what he says, heās always good to listen to. I especially enjoy his luxurious pronunciation of āoooh-ashhh.ā
And the macro photography of oooh-ashhes is always mesmerizing.
The Jose Ferrer one is epic. Itās absolutely a masterpiece.
Excited to see the Peter Dinklage one. I love him and itās brilliant casting.
He won the Oscar for his performance.
iāve never seen this before. heās just so normal, like any of my friends back then, or something.
One of Kurt Cobainās Final Interviews - Incl. Extremely Rare Footage
Last night watched a movie from the mid 60ās - Seconds - about a middle aged banker who disenchanted with his life engages a service that gives you a new life. It was strange and at times surreal. Directed by Frankenheimer of Manchurian Candidate movie. Let me know if you check it out. Can stream for free from archive.org
Iām watching āHelter Skelter: An American Mythā, the first episode of six. Originally it aired on EPIX, but Iām umā¦watching it for free somewhere else.
Iām not a Mansonhead, like some, but I am fascinated. My first exposure was when I was a kid at the time the book āHelter Skelterā was first published, and a girl across the street, her parents had it, I think from āBook of the Monthā. Of course, I just looked at the pictures of blanked-out bodies printed in B&Wā¦but I wondered just how bad it had been that they had to blank out the bodies?
Addendum: I love the name of the production company: Invented by Girls.
Oof. This is something. Itās a really interesting premise, the idea of what a world would be like when men are no longer necessary for reproduction, and no new ones are being born. They unfortunately choose to squander the premise by proceeding in approximately the most hetero-normative way possible. Itās remarkable how it manages to be both offensive and inoffensive in roughly equal measure. It is an accomplishment, but not a particularly laudable one.
If you have Amazon Prime, itās free to watch, but I wouldnāt recommend paying more than that. Itās definitely not worth going out of your way to see, but if you donāt have anything else to do, there are worse ways that you could spend your time.
what did you think of Tarantinoās movie?
I didnāt see it. Iāve read about it and Iāve seen stillsā¦but it doesnāt interest me because I donāt like the principal actors, nor do I care for retconning actual events. Iām not a fan of QT to begin with.
And I canāt afford to see new movies, anyhow.
This review helped me make up my mind:
Addendum: I realize itās a fairy tale, the āOnce Upon a Timeā makes it that. I also find it obscene that with all the homeless folks in LA, much less anywhere else, that so much money can be spent on creating such spectacles just to make money for the makers and to entertain the non-homeless.
