Bronagh Gallagher and Glen Hansard
Glen Hansard went on to international fame (in Ireland) with his band The Frames. Bronagh Gallagher went on to have a role in Pulp Fiction. Maybe you can see what her shirt says.
I read that a lot of american movies and TV shows are made in Canada. Could be these movies impacted by the cultural tariffs? Would it impact the leisure of the american people? Or will it make a lot of people embrace piracy?
I doubt the idiot even realizes that the American film industry absolutely relies on the international box office these days. We’re very successful in exporting our movies and the majority of revenue comes from foreign box office sales, although that very well may end if other countries start putting reciprocal tariffs in place…
The funny thing is that it’s very difficult to find a movie that isn’t a terrible American blockbuster in theaters. The latest Marvel movie almost monopolized the movie theaters in Rio, for example. Films from other countries rarely break this barrier; they usually show in so-called art house theaters.
China already has quotas for foreign films. Now it looks like they’re going to reduce the number of American films allowed into the country each year.
And the Chinese market is not something American studios can afford to ignore.

Yoink!
Almost all Hallmark movies and tv shows are filmed in Canada, and most of their contracted talent is Canadian. All of the Arrowverse shows were filmed in Vancouver. I’m pretty sure the Stargate tv shows were also filmed in Canada. Hell, it seems like half the Hollywood stars are Canadian.
I Am What I Am. Three underdog boys want to participate in a Lion Dance Competition. They have a dream, they have the courage, the will and a lot of energy. The problem is that they have no talent or skill. They meet a strange master who will either teach them the correct way to dance or kill them in the process.

From local NPR station WABE with a story from local online paper Decaturish, which had this article about Shane Morton/AKA Professor Morte in their new print edition… They’ll be screening Godzilla Vs. The Thing in a couple of weeks at the Plaza… always a great time!
