I haven’t heard that. In fact, Davies recently defended Gatwa against fan criticism that Gatwa’s Doctor is too emotional and cries too much. Let’s be real. A lot of this criticism is the standard bullshit non-white (and non-male) people get thrown at them all the time. David Tennant and Matt Smith had their share of emotional outbursts as the Doctor, including tears.
That article sounds an awful lot like Marvel Comics fans complaining that the modern X-Men are too woke. I’m not buying it, and I don’t see anything in that article indicating conflict between Davies and Gatwa.
Yeah, take it with a pinch of salt. Just i heard he bought out his contract because he can’t stand working with him and the series is temporarily on hiatus.
Tennant was famed for being emotional or ice cold basically. He spent more time mooning over Rose than galivanting around the universe.
Fuck me yes!

I’ve been watching this, too (but I’m way behind on this thread and many others). I really like it so far. I really, really like the opening theme by Kamasi Washington.
Somewhere on another thread, the subject of Jamaican music came up, and I just wanted to post this. It is possible the greatest trailer I have ever seen. I rewatch it periodically because the editing is so good.
Outstanding movie and soundtrack as well.
Thanks, now I wanna see it. Find out what all the fuss is about!
The opening theme and the Art are amazing. But Somehow I feel it is lacking something.
Ah, awesome.
Maybe it’s lacking pain? I hear hapna does that.
I haven’t seen the movie, but I still have the soundtrack (on vinyl). Amazing.
