While some of the episodes were already voiced by Johnny Hardwick, the rest of the season will be voiced by Toby Huss… I wonder if you’ll be able to tell a difference in the voices? Obviously, he’ll be credited once he takes over.
I haven’t kept up, for various reasons, but I’d been hoping for a longer run for that particular, um, situation? Storyline? (Trying to be non-spoilery here… )
I’m woefully deficient on NuWho so I really don’t know what to make of the other bit of news the article drops. I’m more familiar with the Classic era, and I need to catch up at some point.
Quite watchable for a film about bland people in bland settings doing bland things, but I never figured out how the business shenanigans and the supernatural shenanigans were meant to relate to each other.
ETA: Although the concern over the potential legal complications of American investors owning the rights to an original patent is a cute nod to this film’s borrowing the structure of Carnival of Souls.
Back in the late 90s, this is one of the earliest stories of Doctor Who that I remember seeing in its entirety.
I remember when the title “Pyramids of Mars” came up I thought “oh, boy, this is going to be great.” And then I was disappointed to find they spent most of the episode running around the grounds of a country manor.
This time around I was prepared for it, and I liked it a bit more. Judging by the comments, many people think this is one of the best episodes ever made. I can’t go that far, but it was OK.
One thing it gets right is the god Sutekh. He is intimidating even though he never gets out of his chair.
Interesting to note — this entire episode was shot on film, so it looks great.
