Whatcha Watchin'?

Someday I’ll catch up.

I think first I have to finish Fringe. The final season looked really dumb, but duty calls.

Saw Crazy Rich Asians with my daughter. Highly recommended! Really good spin on the Rom Com genre.

Edited to add, for those that are interested, there are MANY MANY gratuitous shots of men taking their shirts off.

Low-budget European-ish paranormal horror?

Might be good. Can’t tell yet.

EDIT: Very dark. No happy endings for anybody :+1:

Anyone seen the film Advantageous?

It’s quite interesting.

Decent. Light entertainment

I’m enjoying it, but it doesn’t match the early seasons of Futurama IMO.

No, but it works. I’ll tune in next season.

And by season I mean the next 10 episodes.

Rewatching “William & Mary” with Martin Clunes, one of my favorite actors. Very sweet, well written comedy/romance/drama. I recommend it highly if you haven’t seen it. Only 18 episodes total, but well worth watching.

I only saw the first season, but I loved it!

I’ll have to watch the other seasons soon…

…and maybe rewatch the first season to refresh my memory.

I’m watching Season 4 as it airs now.

I’m pretty skeptical of most spinoffs, prequels, and such, but BCS is every bit as good as the parent show. i assume you’ve watched Breaking Bad. It’s not essential, but it adds a lot. It’s fascinating to see characters show up whose futures we know, and to see how they become involved (omg Gale!).

I’ve seen all of Breaking Bad at least once through. It was also one of the few recent network TV shows I’ve watched in its first run.

I was never a Saul Goodman fan in Breaking Bad, but I have really come to appreciate him after having seen the first season of BCS. I liked Mike Ehrmantraut to begin with, but now I like him even more. Now that you mention Gale, I can hardly wait to see what he is like in BCS. He was one of the more interesting (but short-lived) characters in Breaking Bad, IMO.

Cheech and Chong’s Still Smoking is hands down the worst film I have had the displeasure of seeing, beating out contenders like Expelled and Fred 3.

What, did you watch it while sober?

… Mayyyyyyyybe?

You shouldn’t watch those movies sober.

Case in point: I started watching Kingsmen 2, got about halfway through, then I had to go somewhere. It was easily the worst movie I had seen in a long time. I nearly took it back to the Redbox while I was out, but decided to give it another try when I got back. So, I got back, put the movie back on, smoked a bowl, and laughed my ass off the whole time.

They’re called stoner films for a reason. You watch them while stoned. Otherwise they make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

No, man. Not even once.

Good choice. It’s a much different feel than Breaking Bad but still masterfully crafted.

Not really spoilery, but he’s just now making an appearance in season 4.

What LC said; stoner flicks are only meant to be watched when you’re baked.

BCS is it’s own creature set in the BrBa universe, but it’s equally as compelling and just as well done, creatively.

Just finished Orphan Black, finally, like as homework before starting Killjoys. A few good moments but the writers seemed to be losing control of it, like they never knew which actors would be available so they couldn’t plan anything. Stopping after season 2 or 3 would have been fine.

And I forgot about Ozark and then saw it on a list. Passable Breaking Bad clone, and I’m a sucker for unusual locations. If the stories are all the same at least show me a place I haven’t seen yet.

So, not exactly TV or a movie, but some web videos I’ve been enjoying lately. If you’re into weird or esoteric things, usually related to music subcultures, then check out Sam Sutherland’s video series, this exists. Some recent episodes include an indepth take on the metal-pop idol mash up in Japan:

And the rise of anti-fascist black metal:

(which includes a band called “Neck Beard Death Camp” and “Gaylord”…)

Also, in the second video, he’s apparently reporting from the future (he says the date is sept. 8th 2018… and it was posted yesterday).

Warning on videos - they have some glitchy elements in videos, so they might be a bit stroby for some.
