We started watching “The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.” again. Steampunk-ish sci-fi fantasy high adventure western. I wish there had been more than the one season; Bruce Campbell and Julius Carry were so good together.
OMG I forgot all about Brisco County Jr! I loved that show… but apparently not enough to remember it  I’ll have to rewatch it.
Dr. Quintano, Medicine Woman. Not sure why that still makes me smile.
Watched the latest Mission: Impossible for a bit of fluff while I binged on fresh, hot churros.
Henry Cavill is a pretty good as a Bond-style villain.
Also, when my nasal polyps were raging, I had been avoiding churros because I thought they were some kind of corn-meal concoction. NOT SO!
They’re funnel cakes!
Now my tummy doesn’t feel good, because I ate the whole bag.
I’ve always been fairly churro-adverse to what I must admit was bad churros in youth.
A coworker came back from the Supermercado at lunch with fresh Churros.
Oh My God. That was wonderful.
Just teases and tastes so far…
Travelers, a Netflix show about time travelers sending their consciousnesses back to now from the future, to try to prevent the destruction of the world. I say good luck with that, guys.
Good science fiction, without useless effects. Just good writing so far – we’re on the 4th episode of the first season (so I guess there’s plenty of time for it to go south). But it has an 8.0 rating at IMDb so we’re hoping.
I just finished Cloak & Dagger; it lagged a little in the middle, but overall it was pretty good… and a vast improvement over Runaways which was wretched.
I hate to hear that. I used to read the series when it first came out, and I’d really hoped the TV show would be good.
Sadly, it was not. I watched the whole season, just waiting for it to get better; it never did.
Ugh. I couldn’t make it even halfway. Like Marvel meets the OC (or maybe Dawson’s Creek?).
See, only season 1 is on Canadian Netflix, so far. Showcase is holding onto season 2.
It holds up pretty well, except for the parts where they are pretending to be Americans in what is so obviously Vancouver.
Runaways, or C&D?
Runaways, most definitely.
Ecch. Never seen it; don’t want to. Of course Buffy was a teen drama crossover in a way, but it was really good.
Well “prime-time soap opera feel” is what I was going for. Hell, even Beverly Hills: 90210 would suffice.
Sometimes that’s fun, though. Like when the Resident Evil series blows up Toronto City Hall Umbrella Corp’s Raccoon City HQ.
Fooled me!
