All. the. time. I very rarely use anything with VOCs, so the N100 is sufficient, but I do have the organic cartridges for those rare times. Yeah, even a little exposure is very no bueno
Wow!
Nice! Is there a story behind the image on the buckle?
Appears to be a copy of this, turned into a buckle

Having participated in several digs, I can testify that we never dug in the nude.
And you never got a plaque like Mlle Chervin, did you?
All I got was arthritis in my right hand by the time I was 34.
What is it that stops you? Sunburn, or sand?
and @Axolotl …
Dear Brother has entered the chat (remotely), with a visible shudder and a plaintive cry of “Why?! Why would anyone do that?”
judging from the likes of his colleagues in the field, i wholeheartedly agree. no one wants to be/ see that!
OTOH, i can see those same diggers, digging the notion that “le esprit de archaeologie” is a nude woman.
it’s what keeps 'em digging?
eta: @noahdjango , that is a beautiful piece! DB wants one!
When I was digging, most of the crews were mostly young women and we were wont to ogle the lads, who would strip down to shorts.
Mmm; some of sites were actually cold and rainy (the UK), and for the Canadian ones, sunburn was definitely an issue.
oh, myyy…
then again, DB digs in the near east - Syria (before) now, Iraq - that means nudity in the field may be frowned upon by TPTB.
returning to the thread topic, when DB was here last month, we did some metal foundry stuff to attempt some bronze age techniques he is trying to proof. it was great fun to have him directing my attempts at pouring copper and bronze coins. he may have a YT post about our trials.
I had a flint knapping class as an undergrad, which was lots of fun. One of our assignments was to take a large flint nodule, smash it, and then put it back together again. I found it amusing that the nodules that we were using had been examined and tested out by some early hominin and discarded as being junk, but we, with our big brains, shipped them over from Africa for university students to study.
My specialty was the analysis of animal bone found in sites, and I was planning to go into that subfield until I decided that being a librarian had more job security, a dental plan and a pension.
To bad Ray Conniff never produced a “Music to Watch Archaeologists By” song.
We were often in, or at the edge of a town, so we did get an audience from time to time
how the hell did you know that? I’ve had this buckle for like 30 years from a second hand store or a yard sale or something. had no idea. there’s even the small image on the back, but no text
the size of the buckle is the same as the original plaque according to @Axolotl 's link. there’s not any on eBay currently.
this is the only picture I could find on the internet. if anyone has a worthpoint account you can see what it sold for. it was on eBay but when I logged in and copy pasted the title from the worthpoint page in and filtered for closed listings nothing came up. I don’t use eBay a lot but I guess they don’t keep closed listings on the server after a certain time anymore?

mine looked just like this when I got it. I quit wearing it when I realized how worn it was getting.
Bergamot Brass Works did make quite a few different art nouveau nudes on belt buckles, though
edit: @KeybillyJefe your brother is in luck:
