Looks like my stupid joke kicked off a productive conversation!

In the spirit of that, I think I will make a d20 out of 3 d6s and cut a fourth d6 in 1/3

Tongue was firmly in cheek. A picture of that would just be a picture of my scrap pile.

6+6+6+(6/3) = 20

Or some really fancy sawdust.

Talking about that and polyhedra reminds me – the ancient Greek word for sawdust was prisma. Or more generally it could mean a result of sawing, and that is where prisms get their name. I thought it was interesting, anyway.

If anyone manages to cut a piece of a cube that only has two faces, I will definitely want to see.

Lemme just grab my Möbius pull-saw.

What would be the best place to share game projects? Here, the gaming threads, personal threads, etc.?

You could always post it in one, and cross post to others, as you see fit? I think it would fit here, though. It’s a creative endeavor, after all!

Looking forward to seeing what you’re working on!

Okay!

Some past games:

So one of my older games which might be relevant today: N30: We Are Winning – The Battle of Seattle | Board Game | BoardGameGeek

https://grognard.com/wargamerfiles/n30v351.zip

Which is a response to Brian Train’s Battle of Seattle including more research: Little Wars In my opinion, the protesters could win by spreading out, covering the whole map, and refusing to ever attack the police. It’s kinda true, but it’s unbalanced that way.

Some ongoing game projects:

  1. A roleplaying game, “One Player, Many Heroes” for a single player to play a whole party. I’m planning to start with a “No Spoons Solo” version, which (a) uses a couple rolls for each scene, so it’s easier to play with limited time and/or energy, (b) uses less bookkeeping, and (c) works with pre-written adventures from other systems, so it’s easier to play with writers’ block. I may follow with a “No Spoons Duet” version with advice on session zero, telegraphing danger, etc.

  2. A smaller redo of “N30” as “Seattle '99,” and perhaps a more detailed look at Union and University streets. A lot of the sources for “N30” have disappeared off the interweb, without being archives. I feel like I need better data on numbers, among other things, and this has held that up.

  3. A long-delayed redo of Dennis Bishop’s old Tatchanka. I had a working version several years ago, and have updated due to developers’ criticisms. Right now the 1st few scenarios, dealing with the Directory, are ready, but the later scenarios, dealing with the Makhnovists, need better balance for 2 or 3-player play. So I’m going to need to redo them.

the plywood in the center is the width of the future oven. we wanted to make sure everything is proper before it comes. the side cabinets aren’t installed, just sitting in place, but because we leveled the floor and plumbed the side panels, they’re correct within a 16th of an inch here and there.

wall cabinets partly set with a few screws until we can work the whole system together

Wow—I can’t imagine redoing our own kitchen. My dad might have done so. He had a lot of experience with construction projects—all much simpler though. I’d love to tour the house I grew up in.
