Those are all beautiful. Just a gorgeous song. I saw SRV in concert about 2 months before he died. I’m glad I got to see him.

After the release of the first S&G album, Paul Simon went to live in London for a while and soak up the folk scene. While he was there he met and worked with an Australian named Bruce Woodley of The Seekers. One of the songs they co-wrote is below.

This is one of my favorite covers. It manages to somehow remain faithful to the original and at the same time turn the song almost completely on it’s head and make it their own.

I couldn’t escape the feeling that the Iron & Wine version was going to transition into The Eagle’s “Take it Easy.”
