I sincerely hope EU just cuts us off. I don’t want to lose our allies in the EU - or the rest of the world for that matter - but we have zero place negotiating with Russia for Ukraine without Ukraine or it’s next-door neighbors there.
This is pure meal-team-six bravado and winky waving from the Trump brigade.
Last administration destroyed a lot of the soft power we’d spent decades building. They’ve done more in less than a month than that time, showing the world we’re at best 4 years from reneging on any agreement we make.
I’d love for them to make direct agreements with Mexico and Canada on stuff we need. As much as I don’t want it, and worry how it will impact me and mine, we need to suffer a while. We’ve had it good so very long - pretty great economy, great medicine making everyone healthier and living longer - that we need to let a decent percentage of our country feel pain of their own actions and, unfortunately, get really sick from not using the absolutely magical blessing that are vaccines and modern medicine.
On the map, it seems that Bulgaria and Latvia are two countries that would be better off without migration. They’re facing a demographic emergency either way, but with migration it looks much worse. More people would leave than stay, given the choice?
For pretty much every other country, it looks like immigration is what’ll keep the economy from collapsing.
Trump is doing Putin’s job. He’s working overtime on dismantling Putin’s adversary.

That’s a fantastic idea! What a great start to the holiday!
I’m usually wrong. But I highly doubt he’ll go to jail before the Carnaval. Even though he no longer has any power, I believe that many people, afraid of being caught by the law too, will use Mr. Bolsonaro as a way to stir up the reactionary masses.
Yet the courts said a pardon for Mr. Bolsonaro is out of question, some reactionary politicians are campaigning for amnesty for anyone and everyone involved in the clumsy coup attempt. Although these people are crying out for a presidential pardon, great part of the population don’t care about that.
