OpenAI deputizes ChatGPT to serve as an agent that uses your computer
Yeah, this is going to work out nicely. What’s not to like?
That is… maybe the least surprising thing I’ve read in a while. So, basically, functioning as intended.
Welp, I was looking forward to seeing this, but now I’m not sure I want to…
Noticed this a few days ago, turned it on, instant improvement. It’s not perfect though- none of the search settings is. A few AI pics still slip in, settings the results to only photos doesn’t prevent a few non-photos from showing up, etc. Still, very helpful for cutting out 90% of the slop.
Just checked. It helps, but I still got an obviously-AI-generated baby peacock photo as the 7th image in the search results.
At the end, there’s a spot for you to respond to this question
Has A.I. become a part of your daily life?
Whether you use A.I. to plan meals or draft work memos, as a replacement for a personal trainer or a therapist, Times Opinion wants to hear about your experience. An editor may contact you about using your submission in a future piece.
In what ways do you use A.I. on a regular basis, either for work or in your personal life? Tell us about the models you use, which if any you pay for, and how often you find yourself turning to it.*
I wonder how many AI responses will be inadvertently published.
All the “AI” companies are in outrageous and flagrant breach of European data protection law. It’s not even close.
Irish third level education has, en masse, opted out of automatic AI use detection as legally students’ work is their personal data (this is decided law) and this raises so so so many issues that LLMs cannot, fundamentally technically, comply with.
How the fuck are you going to deal with a personal data request?
How the fuck are you going to remove personal data, completely and irrevocably?
No chance. Ever.
It’s all illegal.
This sounds like an article in The Onion but a modern-day John Henry just won a head-to-head 10-hour coding competition against OpenAI:
“AI is going great” part one million:
A Prominent OpenAI Investor Appears to Be Suffering a ChatGPT-Related Mental Health Crisis, His Peers Say
The source material that got filtered through ChatGPT to lead to being divorced from reality:
In sum, one theory is that ChatGPT, which was trained on huge amounts of text sourced online, digested large amounts of SCP fiction during its creation and is now parroting it back to Lewis in a way that has led him to a dark place.
It’s not even like it’s parroting back some warped parody of philosophy or political science to lead down a psychotic rabbit hole - it’s mixing up a whole internet’s worth of fantasy fiction, facts, ignorant nonsense, deliberate lies and the occasional bit of gibberish…
