Unlike some other robots designed to mimic humans, Zyrex is purpose-built for construction, RIC Robotics claims. It is being engineered first and foremost for performing heavy-duty work such as handling materials, plus precision tasks including welding, assembling, 3D printing and exterior finishing.

Our robot vacuum has already won the eternal searing hatred of our otherwise chill dog. The robot keeps bumping into the dog as he snoozes on the floor, and the dog growls and barks at it.
If we had a robot that tried to use a mechanical arm on the dog, we’d have to take the dog to the vet to remove plastic bits from its stomach.

$3k for basically a back pack that follows you around. The site tellingly does not mention the cargo space dimensions, just a 20lb weight limit, but the thing is only 19 inches wide and that includes the wheels.
Yeah, it’s comfortably outclassed in the usefulness stakes by a tartan shopping trolley.
