Enshittification

The spokesperson noted that, without JavaScript, many Google Search features won’t work properly and that the quality of search results tends to be degraded.

How would we tell? Perhaps the spokesperson meant “… to be degraded more than it already is”?

Nah, it generally is pretty lazy and half the posts are shopping posts… I still will click over there if I want to turn my brain off for a bit. Sometimes they have interesting stuff (like I enjoy the 80s listicles), but less so these days… Not a huge loss… just… weird. But that’s the cycles of enshittification for ya!

Now I can access it again… weird!

Look no further.

Bluetooth or wired. No dongles or software necessary.

Yeah i have one that i got a while back for my Steam deck because i thought i would like to use it with it (i didn’t) so i might be inclined to replace my current keyboard when i get sick of it, though i will need to get a separate number pad for it because that one doesn’t have it as part of its layout.

You didn’t like Keychron? I didn’t think that was possible.

I’m typing this to you on a K14 with lovely brown switches.

I’ll have to remember to look this up in the future. I don’t know anything about this AI thing, but I already decided never to buy from Logitech again after they seriously considered making their mouse a subscription service. They didn’t go through with it, but the fact they even considered it told me all I needed to know.

It also comes with a key puller.

I got the brown key switches because I was trying to replicate the experience of typing on the original Macintosh keyboard. Not clicky, but rather clunky.

I’ve had it for 2 years so far. Makes typing with an iPad much easier.

Well i meant that i didn’t find it useful to use a keyboard for the Steam deck. The keyboard itself is fine, i intend to use it at some point but for now i’m content using my current keyboard until i see a need to swap it out.

I am relieved to hear that. The timeline is not completely corrupted.

I don’t have a blue sky account so this is lame. Guess i’ll have to look up this AI logitech info elsewhere

I’m partial to Glorious (formerly Glorious PC Gaming) devices. Even if the name was silly, their products are solid and can be as annoying or unobtrusive as you want.

Here’s my current setup: a custom-ordered GMMK3, and a Model D2 mouse.

I like that when you custom order the keyboard, they sent it to you in an autographed case by the assembler

Keychron, BTW, is a very good keyboard brand and thinking of buying one for my sister

It looks glorious.

Wrote a longish post explaining why Bluesky is enshittification-resistant (not enshittification-proof, mind you, but resistant). I expect some people to get mad about this, but for folks who are concerned/trying to understand…

The key: it has a tech poison pill.
