I noticed one comment saying the real news is at the local level. Not anymore…
Bari Weiss? Journalist entrepreneur?
That could explain why Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue, announced that she’s retiring.
Ars Technica and Teen Vogue seem to be some of the last ones doing good work. So of course they must be stopped. God, what a mess.
I stopped watching TV news round-table shows years ago. This covers what they’ve turned into - a way to platform right-wing talking points and justify authoritarian actions of the regime - using a recent CNN broadcast as an example:
Unfortunately, the woman in pink’s behavior has become so normalized that it’s what often happens in meetings, too. I attended an online meeting a few weeks ago, and this is what it devolved to. One person just kept interrupting and talking over anyone who they disagreed with and accusing the people they interrupted of being rude! It was an hour and a half meeting and they talked almost 2/3 of the meeting. Afterwards, I found out they weren’t even supposed to be there. They weren’t invited and they weren’t qualified to be a part of the conversation.
Betteridge’s Law headline: the answer is No.
Actually, the answer is: HELL NO.
No notes.
Non-paywalled:
I don’t recognise the picture.
They’re the vampires from Sinners. They just want you to let them in. Why are you being so rude?
@Catsidhe has the spoiler covered (in both senses). But in case someone doesn’t want to click, they are characters from Sinners. A fantastic movie everyone should see
This is why so many Americans are moving to Russia
Spoiler: It’s because they’re reading Russian propaganda in the NYT.
I only ever see Telegraph headlines on the MS Edge start page, but I’ve seen enough to know they’re very sceptical about neurodivergence, POTS, ME/CFS, and mental health conditions in general. But “money dysmorphia”? Oh sure, that’s definitely a real thing worth worrying about.
That’s right up there with Affluenza in the pantheon of medical conditions which totally exist. Come to think of it, they’re probably the same thing.
“Money Dysmorphia?” OK, I can see this as “Yes, I have all my bills paid, extra for fun stuff and to put money in the bank, but it’s not like I can buy a jet, or a Senator! I’m not rich!” I feel really bad (seriously) for these guys. They will never be happy if this is how they think. I consider myself pretty damned wealthy. I have no financial worries (currently), a healthy family, a good marriage, and pretty damned healthy myself. If you have all that and still can’t feel like you are wealthy, you never, ever will. These are folks who see money as a way to keep score, like in a video game. And the fact that Elno and Zuck and Co. are so many levels above them just sticks in their craw. I don’t think there is a way around this without changing your whole worldview. IOW, it really sucks to be them!
