Hey, {appropriate term of endearment}, it's cold outside

I read earlier today (abc.net.au) that some parts of the US are colder than Antarctica! You have my sympathy and also a little envy because it’s been really hot here in Aus, although it’s cooler today before things heat up again on the weekend :weary:

I wish we could trade a little hot and cold between our places. It just might even out to something bearable if we could.

As in, over a foot long, poisonous, can’t be killed easily?

I wasn’t aware they existed in the US

Within spitting distance is exactly where I want my Cheeseheads

To be fair, it’s their summer and our winter, so I expect them to be warmer

4 inches long at most, possibly but probably not so poisonous, easily squishable but fast.

And apparently “can inflict wounds similar to bee stings”, so I’m not thrilled.

But I don’t feel threatened enough to kill it.

Had to go outside

Really? It must really be warming up if ducks are showing up in January.

I live in an unheated extension.

It’s 27° or 28° F outside, something like 48° F in my room, 65° F inside the house proper.

I can’t decide if I’m cold or not.

Get yourself a fur coat like Peter Freuchen? That’s cold.

Dagmar. That’s a name I don’t hear enough.

Quick googling looks like the last peak was 2008 and before that 1993.
