I cross it a couple of times a year. It’s much nicer now than back then with the fences and floodlights and watchtowers and minefields and spring guns and whatnot. Much quicker to cross, too; I don’t even have to stop the car, let alone climb out and be searched.

To be fair to NYC, yeah it’s got a pretty great grid for most of it, but you get below 14th Street or so, things start to get pretty weird.
