âMy doom prediction was exaggerated, but wasnât wrongâ really made this a candidate for the dumbest thing Iâve readâŚ
Being able to publish anything without even thinking about it sure does seem to lower the level of discourse, doesnât it?
I am growing fond of this saying. Iâm not sure where I stole it from.
âIâm sure that sounded great in your head, but it lost something as it passed through your mouth|fingers.â
I saw one person today saying that Trump was actually succeeding at that âmake america great againâ goal - by getting the most idiotic evil people following him unquestionably, and then either arrested for insurrection or killed off by refusing to mask up and get vaccinated during a pandemic.
I think thatâs too much credit though. That buffoon couldnât plan his way out of a paper bag with a jackhammer, let alone come up with a plan so perfectly devious.
Itâs a funny thought though, like that âFailed successfully!â meme.
What the frakking frakâŚ

Iâm still reeling from the blatant bigotry against Native Americans that somehow segued into âbe like the bloodthirsty onesâ. How does someone fit their head so far up their ass they can tickle their tonsils?
That is a good reminder that today is national Punch A Nazi day.
And if you donât see this until later, thatâs ok. Itâs still national Punch A Nazi day, every day.
The phrase âAmerica is already greatâ tells you all you need about the Democratsâ version.
A white neighbor who shot at a Black familyâs Michigan home, slashed tires on a vehicle and wrote racist graffiti on a truck, told a judge Monday that he did it because of a Black Lives Matter sign in the window.
Michael Frederick Jr. said during his sentencing in Macomb County Circuit Court that his actions werenât an attack on Eddie and Candace Hall âpersonally.â
âI targeted these people because I didnât like their political sign that they had in the window,â he said. âI think you guys are some great people and didnât deserve this at all.â
This is in my city. I know the neighborhood. It was reported in the local advertising/news rag we get for free.
I notice you didnât include the section where it mentions the forgiveness of the victims. Makes me think this should be in the Denazification thread; but thatâs just me.
I considered the denazification thread, but the fact that this sort of thing is still happening, and that itâs related to the lies that have been told about BLM, made me think it fit more here.
And itâs all well and good for the victims to forgive, but still incredibly messed up that this person did all of this over just a sign.
It sure is. But itâs also a step in the right direction that somehow people managed to come together over it in a positive way as well. And IMNSHO, that takes precedence over the incredibly-messed-up deed that inspired it.
I donât think the good stuff gets passed around as much, you know? And it should, because weâre fucking bombarded with that bad stuff from almost every turn, it appears. I dunno, what would happen if we had more reminders that there are still positive and uplifting things going on around us?
Usual migraine warnings for the link: news video, position:sticky request for support, position:sticky scrollbreaker to keep the video player in view.
This is from the most recent Warren Weekly, where I first saw this story reported. No wonder the kidâs an asshole; his dad is as well! He lied to the cops and threw the gun away.
Frankly, the fact that immigration restrictionism seems like the default in American political discourse, and basic decency is considered extreme, just reminds me that this country inspired the Nazis.
And itâs hard to discuss thisâ
Thereâs the insistence that itâs offensive to call white supremacist policies racist, that weâre only doing it because the cops involved are white, that we musnât talk about the history of these policies or the patterns of their enforcement, the insistance that if we donât support these policies we should leave the country, and most maddening to me, the appeals to âsovereign rightsâ and such doublespeak.
