Have you found him yet?

Unfortunately no, it’s been cold and rainy here. I’ve been regularly going outside to look for him but no luck so far, all i can hope for with this weather is that someone else found him. Waiting for the weather to ease up so we can put more posters up around the neighborhood

Maybe your kitty took refuge in someone’s garage? Or somewhere else, staying dry? Fingers crossed!

Hopefully that means under a porch or in a shed, something like that.

I mentioned this over in the holidays thread:

The kid has this weird laminated piece of paper from the school marketplace thing with a picture of an Egyptian Mau. She asked me if that was a picture of Nimbus, having forgotten she got it in kindergarten. I was like “this is his first Christmas. We wouldn’t have any pictures of him for ornaments. OMG, you are right. That really does look like him!”

So I went and looked at the breed standards and photos. While on the darker side of silver, his facial features and eye color are a dead ringer. His back stripes aren’t solid, just lots of spots close together. He also has the legs that are longer in back than front. The personality clinched it, perfect description of Nimbus.

Active, alert and agile, Egyptian Maus are shoulder riders, refrigerator vultures, and furry alarm clocks; in other words, they will participate in every aspect of your life. Known to be strong-willed, they have definite ideas about who can handle them and when

Quiet cats with low, melodious voices, they enjoy engaging you in conversations and may chirp or chatter at you in greeting.

As a rescue, he’s doubtless not a purebred. But it was funny how closely the breed standards and personality description fit.

Ours is strikingly similar as well, except for being orange! Spots and everything.

When I was perusing, the Arabian Mau came up. Looks a whole lot like Ravus, with that bold nose. Perhaps yours looks a bit like an Arabian.Mau?

Edit to add a copy of the pic and one of Princess Ravus with her Long legs and perfectly oval paws

Mine is a rescue from rural Indiana, so the likelihood of being a pure breed is basically nonexistent! But wow, yes, the Arabian Mau is freaky similar!

Mesmerized by a bird singing on top of the building next door.

The deed has been done. He went in at around 8 a.m., and got out around 4 pm.
We’ve found the orange slice to be so much better than the Martini Glass of Shame.
