omg, THAT is our Nora’s favorite toy, but in blue. i wish i could find more of them. it’s the only thing she plays with, and she does it secretly. i never see her doing it, but she will carry it from wherever it is in the house and put it next to my office chair in the middle of the night, then sing a little about it. then the next day when i delightedly discover it, i move it somewhere else for her to find it. it’s the most adorable thing, but i can’t for the life of me figure out how or why she started doing it.

Oh, yes, that kind of play must be away from people. Occasionally Lyta will get a few yards from us and then drop it. But she make SO much noise while carrying it around, it’s hilarious. For the first 15 minutes or so . . . (She’s very loud and raucous.) I think it’s the equivalent of carrying a mouse around.
I’ll try to find out where we get those.

we have decided that Nora is happy and proud to have participated in The Game, and so she sings this little song about it to announce that she’s done her part. it’s really funny that i have never caught her actually in the act of carrying the ball around. and i am certain it’s her, because Nick doesn’t care one bit about that toy. it’s quite charming.

Yeah, it’s so adorable. We try not to laugh as that would be impolite. But it always brings a smile to our faces, especially when she deposits the toy a tiny bit closer this time.
We get them in bulk:
but you can just search for CHENILLE-KRAFT-INCH-GLITTER-POMS to find other sellers. It’s amazing how often we have to replace them because of stepping on them. They are NO GOOD (apparently) if slightly out of round.

our cat seems fine with it even if its stepped on (and it frequently is), but she feigns aloofness when it’s tossed or rolled for her. it would ruin the game if she let on that it’s actually her favorite. she plays with it when we can’t see, that’s for sure. in fact, i’m pretty sure she puts it near my desk because she’s certain i WILL step on it there, especially when it’s dark in the morning.
